Come and see the animals at La Aurora Zoo, a large zoological park. Established in 1924 as part of a major regeneration project, the zoo has become a popular place to escape the city rush. Head to the African section to see zebras, lions, and buffalos, and spot three species of Asian monkeys, with howlers shouting at the overhead traffic from the nearby airport. Take a stroll through the landscaped gardens, relaxing under the shade of the trees, and head to the onsite restaurants when you're feeling in need of a meal. What surprised me is that everyone is outdoors, I didn't see one that cage there. They have an aviary, super beautiful where you appreciate the birds live and practice with them for a moment. Penguins can't miss them as well as feed giraffes. Incredible experience, I want to return definitely
Lindo paseo con los niños, ambiente limpio sin embargo los baños aún tienen que estar más limpios. El personal es muy educado. Para comer hay Pollo Campero. pizza more »Nice walk with the kids, clean environment however the bathrooms still have to be cleaner. The staff is very polite. For lunch there is Chicken Campero. pizza
perfect weather, full of beautiful trees, plants and flowers. lots of shade and animals I have never seen in other zoo's. wolf's, penguins, hippos and gorgeous white tiger among other wonders.... my kids and I loved it! Great experience.
This is a most excellent zoo. There are a wide variety of animals and environments. The animals look healthy and clean. Grounds are exceptionally well kept. Employees are friendly and professional. The kid's train is fun. Twice daily you can pay 10Q ($1.30) to feed giraffes by hand from an elevated platform. Highly recommended. I've travelled in Guatemala for 20 years and mostly avoided Guatemala City for the first ten. Now I can appreciate Guate because of attractions like the zoo. You won't run into many gringos here because they mostly avoid the city.
