  • On the way to the idol at Pascal Abaj, this museum has wonderful specimens of masks used in Maya ceremonials.  more »
  • At the foot of the trail up to Pascual Abaj. Small display, not really much explanatory material. Ask around to see active mask-making workshop in town instead. I's hard to find, but the family is....  more »

  • They want a relatively high entrance fee. Feels like a tourist trap.
  • It Is a unique room, but you can find from the first wooden masks with glass eyes, which have hair up to the present. The owner and Guide is a Mayan historian and priest. It gives You a detailed explanation of the history and evolution of the dances and masks. The entrance costs Q25, if you like the story it's worth it.
