教会の跡地も崩れた建物... more »I went there in January 2019. This is the remains of a church in front of the Recolecion Monastery northwest of Antigua's market. It is a place that is not introduced in the guide book, but I liked it. Admission is charged for this place. This spot is also the ruins of the church that collapsed in the big earthquake, and it is neatly maintained as a park, and seems to be a popular place as a date spot for local couples. When you enter the entrance, flowers are blooming in the garden of a beautiful lawn. The site of the church also collapsed.
The place was very nice and quaint. Perfect for the budget traveler. Very friendly staff. Max the manager speaks very good English. He was super helpful in guiding, explaining tours and everything to do in Guatemala. I would definitely recommend this place to my guests.
Posada de San Jeronimo was a perfect location, safe, and very ideal hostel. Their front desk is always staffed and they accepted me even as late as 1am, after my travels. I thoroughly enjoyed the accommodations, from hot showers to private feeling bunks (they have sheets you can close). My Spanish is so awful, so the patience and kindness of the front staff was really more than I could have asked for. Nothing was stolen from my room and it's in perfect walking distance of most the main Antigua sites. I highly recommend this stay. The road can be kinda loud from the window and it does get a little chilly at night. Still well worth the stay.
