It was absorbing moving around the splendid array of artefacts from antiquity. Funerary stelae and sculptures abound and reflect the reverence accorded to this seminal life event. Many stone reliefs.... more »

It's a lovely museum, rather small but great for a short hide away from the sun. Their collection is impressive, the text is well written and enjoyable to read. The only thing we didn't enjoy was the stuff members following us from room to room. It wasn't even done discretly and got quite absurd at one moment. Other than that we liked the museum very much and would definitely recommend it if you're in Piraeus.
