Havania Beach, Katsikia

Offering great snorkeling opportunities and many options for water sports, Havania Beach sits on a historic spot where a number of different invaders of Crete--from Ottomans to Germans--left their mark. The tranquil sandy beach boasts a cafe, where you can rent sunbeds and umbrellas, a good option given the lack of natural shade. The remnants of a small Ottoman port can still be seen while snorkeling, and the large stones on the left side of the beach are actually remains of an old fortress. Put Havania Beach on your schedule, and learn what else deserves a visit by using our Katsikia holiday maker tool.
