This charming little find is a good museum for learning how the rock formations came to be here in Kastraki. It won't take very long to go through and enjoy the exhibits, so don't pass this one by. more »

A nice and free museum that explains history of how Meteora developed. It starts at the beginning literally 4.7 billion years ago when this planet was formed. It explains rocks, minerals and over 2 stories lays out step by step process of the region. It's really worth visiting to learn more about the region.

Nice museum, in an old school building and free to visit. Here you will discover all about the origins of Meteora. On the website there is a video of 15 minutes to see about the origins of Meteora and its surroundings. That is not the case. Downstairs is a 7 minute movie with beautiful images of the surroundings without comment. The film is turned on on request. On the upper floor, which is reachable from to reach, is a short film of 4 minutes about the creation of Meteora and surroundings. All in all it is a small museum but very informative and worth visiting if you want to know more about this beautiful area.See original
