During a visit to Greece last year, I had the chance to buy a stunningly beautiful mosaic as a wedding present for my sister. It now prominently features in her living room wall, and has already received much praise from visitors. Wonderful work by an inspired artist!

As a Greek living in the US, I am always looking for handicrafts made in Greece for myself and to bring as presents. Mosaics 24 is a welcomed addition to the small beach town of Chanioti. In their gallery-cum-studio, you can admire the exquisite mosaic compositions by Karolina and the elegant jewelry by George. Some of the work reminds me of Hellenistic and Roman mosaic work, seen in museums and archaeological sites. Other panels draw from modern and contemporary art, landscapes, and architectural details. Seeing Karolina and George at work in their compositions makes you realize that mosaic work is very much a living art.
