Olympiapark, Munich

4.4
#13 of 556 in Things to do in Munich
You can climb the roof and bungee-jump into the famous Olympiapark, home of the 1972 Olympics. This stadium is one of the rare examples of infrastructure built for the Olympics that has remained in use long after the end of the event. It now hosts concerts, festivals, and even religious special occasions. The complex includes the stadium, swimming hall, ice rink, media center, tennis facility, Olympic village, and iconic 291 m (955 ft) tower. At the top of the tower is an observation platform and revolving restaurant. You can walk, cycle, inline skate, or jog around the lake. Or, you can rent a row or paddleboat. Check online for upcoming special events and guided tours. Plan a Munich trip in moments using our itinerary builder.

  • The original Munich-Linpike Club was 1972, and we went to the time when there were few people, some of the construction workers in the turf, some people went swimming, nearby is a large public park, to the BMW museum can come and see.

  • We were to Andreas Gabalier in June and to Bon Jovi in July You must have experienced it, always gladly But at Gabalier in front on stage area there were no toilets, here we should have walked through the whole interior, then the stairs up to the exit , this is inexplicable to me... At Bon Jovi and also at Gabalier the order huts were very unfriendly...

  • Take the metro and the bus and get off at the little lake or somewhere near and just orientate on the TV tower. You will not miss any single kind of sport you will miss, also the sea life museum and the view from the tower or the night open air cinema are interesting depending on what you are searching for. Be careful with the opening hours though as they use to be pretty german.
  • Olympia park is one of my favorites in Munich city where you can chill with friends and family. There are many sports all around the park, further more BMW museum and BMW world is also there so for tourists this place is best. If you are more in to sport and love running or biking this place is for you. Tennis, beach volleyball and other sports are also available with some entry costs. There are also some activities for kids around the olimpia lake and Tower.
