A Baroque castle, Schloss Moritzburg served as a hunting lodge to Saxony's Elector Frederick Augustus I in the 18th century. Explore inside for a sense of the splendor of Saxon court life. Many of the furnishings are themed around hunting, such as a room covered in antlers and a feather room. It is very nice castle, very famous for a czech-german fairy tail. There is also a presentation dedicated to this fairy tail. There is a lake around the castle, but in December there was no water. more »

Large nice castle with lake around. You can go around for free and entrance costs 8 euro. It is worth, very interesting. Parking is near the castle 1,2 euro per hour.

Moritzburg Palace is a Baroque palace in Moritzburg, in the German state of Saxony, about 13 kilometres (8.1 mi) northwest of the Saxon capital, Dresden. The castle has four round towers and lies on a symmetrical artificial island. It is named after Duke Moritz of Saxony, who had a hunting lodge built there between 1542 and 1546. The surrounding woodlands and lakes have been a favourite hunting area of the electors and kings of Saxony.
