Deutsches Eck (German Corner), Koblenz

4.4
Right where the Moselle river joins the Rhine, Deutsches Eck (German Corner) memorializes the long path to postwar German unity. You can explore the Koblenz park's site of the 13th-century settlement of Teutonic Knights. Then look for the imposing monument to Kaiser Wilhelm I. It was recreated and placed here in 1993 as a symbol of the desire for German reunification. The 37 m (121 ft) tall structure is decorated with the crests and shields of each German federal state. Pay a visit to the pleasant green space and riverside outcropping. You'll find plenty of places watch the riverboats and water traffic. Deutsches Eck (German Corner) is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our world travel planner, Koblenz Edition.

  • The German corner is the combination of Mosel and Rhine in Koblenz. Magnificent square on the waterfront in Koblenz overlooking the Ehrenbreitstein fortress.

  • It is a promontory in the shape of a bow of boat overlooking the confluence of the Moselle and the Rhine. Nothing fancy. On the back, you will notice the colossal equestrian statue of Guillaume 1 °. During our visit, there were an incredible number of beer Gartens as well as fun and culinary attractions.

  • Extremely clean, great history, amazing tour. Its huge and a great picnic spot. If you keep walking you can even see part of the Berlin wall.
  • It's the German corner...2 rivers split. Really cool stone structure and statues as well as a nice little cafe/ Biergarten if you're there during the summer months. Worth a 5-10 minute stop if you're in the area
