The oldest monastery brewery in the world, Monastery Weltenburg rests in the beautiful Danube gorge, right on the river. The boat ride up to the Abbey on the Danube is an absolute must. It is so beautiful and serene. The inside of the church is spectacular and a little different in that you have St. George up on the main altar. They are famous for their dark beer here and their pretzels are great. Highly recommended.

The beer was good but unfortunately the rain came down the whole time we were there. The flood levels were interesting. On a nice day this would have been much better.
