Offering a rare chance to experience the harsh living conditions inside the tight corridors of a Soviet submarine in operation during the height of the Cold War, U-Bootmuseum is now open to the public as a museum exhibit. Once the largest hunting and espionage submarine in the world, the Russian submarine was built in 1976 and remained in service until 2001. The vessel spent many years patrolling the North Sea, operated by a 78-man crew. Today, the submarine is docked on the edge of the city's harbor, providing a peek behind one of the most impressive vessels of its time. • Worth seeing. It's amazing how all the crew members fit there. There were no English tours available, but even alone it worth exploring.  more »
