Main Tower offers several stylish ways to unwind after a busy day, all of them with impressive views over the city rooftops. Opened in 1999, the 200 m (656 ft) skyscraper remains one of the tallest buildings in Germany and the only one in Frankfurt with a public observation deck. Before you head up, take time to appreciate two important pieces of contemporary art in the foyer--a video installation by Bill Viola and a wall mosaic by Stephan Huber. Europe's highest fitness club occupies the 53rd and 54th floors of the building, and if you need to fill an empty stomach after a workout head to the restaurant on the 53rd floor.     Beautiful tower. Gorgeous views. Great for sunset. More enjoyable at night with all the city lights. It just lacks a bar in the lower floor to be able to drink something while there like in The Shard....  more »

    A great spot to get high. No, not *that* kind of high. This is the part where you pay a few Euros, wait in a line, go through a magnetometer and then ride a speedy elevator (18 km/hour!) to get a terrific view.Unlike some other observation decks, the top of the Main Tower is completely open other than a low railing. There's no glass between you and the sky. No need to worry, though.

    The views were amazing and the top is mainly open, with no glass panels which was great for photo opportunities. I've given four stars because you can only get up and down in a lift and there were long queues going back down which could have been avoiding if there was an option to use the stairs which many people tried to do but you were only able to ascend a couple of floors! Despite that, I would still recommend visiting the tower - the views are worth it.
