Kunsthofpassage, Dresden

4.5
Step off the main street into Kunsthofpassage, and enter a magical space that transports you far from the city, at least for a brief moment. Five small courtyards make up the area, a project completed in 2001 by a small group of artists and architects. Wander through the group of quirky, colorful buildings, each with its own style. Stop into an alternative restaurant or cafe along the way, or pick up a handcrafted souvenir at one of the little workshops. Check online for events. • The most beautiful thing about the Kunsthofpassage are the colourful and original house facades. In the shops you will find the typical alternative frill of tea, ethno jewelry and tai chi school, a hairdresser who is fully booked for the next 4 weeks and some cafés and a restaurant with a strong vegan character. A good place to stay, but you could also find it in Berlin or Copenhagen.

  • I have seen this house many times in Internet a long time ago, and here I am here personally. It was interesting to look on it, but it was a pity that I had no chance to hear these any sounds. It is located in a very unusual place, which I could advise to visit not only for the sake of this house. There is a small network of courtyards strewn with small shops and cafes that will appeal to those who enjoy an artistic lifestyle.
  • I think seeing these buildings was one of my favorite parts of being in Dresden. It just looks really beautiful and interesting, also makes for a nice picture taking spot. The area has a bunch of cute little stores around it as well. Would definitely recommend a visit here.
