  • The Gestapo headquarters is well worth the visit. The holding cells, the history of the people who were held there and their writing on the walls is extremely moving. You could spend a good hour or mo...  more »
  • The truth is that we are not much of visiting museums on our trips, but this one in particular caught our attention and we encouraged ourselves. The museum is quite close to the cathedral, it will be about 5 minutes walk. The entrance costs 4.50 pp and we recommend taking the audio guide (2o) if you do not understand German, because if you do not, it is not very funny because you do not know anything. The museum consists of soaking a little of the history of Nazism, especially in cologne, the bombings that the city suffered... etc and the most interesting part for us is the part of the basement where you can see a small "prison" and how the prisoners "lived" there, as well as a small bunker. The time you dedicate to him is up to you, we were 1 hour and a half and we thought it was enough. ✅ After visiting it we think it is an essential visit if you go to Cologne.

  • A creepy building that has witnessed many tragedies. It is a pity that a lot of the written explanations are only in german. But I suppose that you can find guided tours in your own language. When I was there there were many students with teachers/speakers, so it seems that the place is very active in this regard. I would not recommend the visit if you are already feeling depressed.
  • Great museum with an insane amount of information and media. I like the arrangement throughout the different rooms, and the atmosphere, as the original walls, floor, and the entire building structure have been preserved. The basement prison and the bunker are impressive, with plenty of food for thought. The entry ticket is 4.50€, and the lockers (for backpacks and coats) are free of charge. Kudos to the friendly and helpful personnel! Absolutely recommended.
