Both a municipal park and a botanical garden, Botanical Gardens Flora, designed by renowned Prussian gardener Peter Joseph Lenné in 1864, contains more than 10,000 different plant species. Close to the left Rhine banks in the city's north, this 11.5 hectare (28 acre) garden includes The Flora, which occupies the southern part of the park and features a waterfall and a flower garden with a central fountain. More exotic plants, such as orchids, cocoa plants, and succulents can be found in the large greenhouse. The northern botanical garden is categorized according to plant type. In the summer, try to time your visit with the annual Zoo and Flora Summer Night, which offers a music program and a nocturnal visit to the zoo. A very peaceful spot. Free entry. Note the greenhouse doesn't open till 10am, if you are early risers! A good size, can easily spend a couple of hours. In the process of building an orangery and larger greenhouse. Park in the zoo car park. Note there are no facilities in the park - no toilets or cafes.

The Garten is very beautiful and contains a lot of different things to look at. The prices for coffee and cake is reasonable. Free entry to the park makes the whole experience really smooth. Please obey the signs to not walk on the grass so that future generations also can visit and see all the wonderful things.
