  • This castle was just awesome! The castle is cool, the grounds are photogenic and the various collections / exhibits are well worth the price of admission (which i thought was very reasonable). Plan on...  more »

The menu is extensive, the menu is extensive, the food of excellent quality. We have been served very kindly and are happy to come back every time we visit Coburg.

  • A very nice fortress with a lot of history stories and heritage. It is one of the most important place in German history. Found out a lot of things about the old German Hohenzollern dynasty. The walk up to the place is through a nice park for about 30 minutes. The fortress inside building has many interesting architectural details and the museum was open in April until 17.00h.
  • 1000 years old 🏰 castle and fortress used until 1954 as residence by the Duke of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, a grandson of Queen Victoria. Its historical significance spans throughout the centuries. In the XVI Century, Martin Luther sought protection in the castle, coinciding with the painter Lucas Cranach. The castle's museum features very diverse collections ranging from glass, weapons, and armours to carriages.
