Considered by many people to be the most beautiful gardens anywhere, Chateau de Villandry owner, Henri Carvallo, proudly and jovially keeps the property maintained in immaculate condition for your enjoyment. Its famous Renaissance gardens, include a water garden, ornamental flower gardens, and vegetable gardens. The garden layout includes formal patterns created with low box hedges. You can learn more about the gardens and castle with a guided tour available in English. Take your sweetheart on a carriage ride, and then play tennis on the real grass court complete with free rule sheets for the classic game. • Incredible. We went to visit the Chateau and were amazed by the fantastic gardens, these for me are by far the best I have ever seen. Informative panels explaining the layouts and a nice Chateau to...  more »
  • One comes here to explore the spectacular gardens. So it is mostly an outdoor experience with a classic chateau in the background. The landscape design is classic and continues to this day.  more »

  • Very nice Castle, in a very calm place, I haven't been inside, but the gardens are very very nice, it was really a pleasure to take a promenade inside of them, the gardens are partitioned in quite a few categories, so you'll be pleasantly surprised by the different garden designs, passing from one garden to another. You may also find quite a lot of parking places right in the premises of the castle, also a few restaurants if you get hungry. I did enjoy visiting this Chateau.
  • The castle has the best gardens i visited. No matter the season, we totally lost the meaning of time. We visited the castle in spring, when the flower gardens were full of tulips and colours, and in the autumn when the veggie gardens were the star, full of cabbage, eggplants, tomatoes and ... chrysanthemum between them. Plus that in the castle small resto, all what they serve is coming from their garden. Add to this the lovely English garden, the herbs garden and the water flowing, and clearly the nature lovers will be in love with Villandry.
