Espace EDF Bazacle, Toulouse

#6 of 30 in Historic Sites in Toulouse
Historic Site · Hidden Gem · Landmark
Visit Espace EDF Bazacle, the former mill on the banks of the river Garonne. Built on a natural ford, it was used to grind grain, full cloth, saw wood, and crush oak from the 12th century onward. Today, in the same spot, you'll find a hydroelectric power plant with old and modern turbines. Walk to the 400 sq m (1.312 sq ft) terrace for a view of the river, birds, and migratory fish that swim through the fish ladder. Learn about the workings and fragility of the environment from the observation boards. Put Espace EDF Bazacle at the forefront of your travel plans using our Toulouse road trip planning site.
