Parc Zoologique et Chateau de Thoiry, Thoiry

#2 of 26 in Parks in Yvelines
Zoo · Zoo / Aquarium
Parc Zoologique et Chateau de Thoiry blends a castle, zoo, and botanical garden. The castle itself was originally designed as a solar calendar, with the garden walkways as the hands. Built according to the golden ratio, the castle's design is in harmony with the solar cycles. Outside, you can explore the gardens, which have been fashioned by famous landscapers for centuries, marking the styles of their respective eras. Beech, oak, hornbeam, and chestnut trees all shade the property. The safari park, which must be visited from inside your vehicle, houses about 800 free-roaming exotic animals. Parts of the zoo and botanical gardens have been made accessible by foot. There’s a Komodo dragon exhibit and a lion exhibit, where you can walk among the felines inside a glass tunnel. The Mysterious Island offers an adventure trail on suspended bridges. • It was very nice to see lights in the dark December evening.
  • The mistake I made I think it happened a bit late around 4 p.m. but to do the safari, verse to visit the lights just after I thought it was the right timing mistake because suddenly few animals due to the weather brooding certainly and at nightfall I think. But the final reward is the visit of the park with the lights 2 hours of walk to take in the eyes so much that it is magnificent for children and magical. And for adults, it is fairytale not to miss a visit not to be missed, I recommend it. Well done and thank you to the organizers.
