The stunning, white miniatures of the Loire’s most remarkable châteaux at Pierre et Lumiere are the product of a collaboration between Yann Bouchard and Phillipe Cormand. Bouchard felt such affection for the buildings of the Loire that he asked Cormand to render them on a smaller scale from the same type of stone used to build the originals, tuffeau limestone. You’ll see the sculptures displayed in muted lighting that accentuates the delicate craftsmanship of the artists. We walk through these cave galleries, the result is stunning. Signs explains how it worked. And children can have a questionnaire with puzzles to solve.
Very impressive stone carvings. A great visit on a rainy day and the kids loved the carving at the end. But it is a bit expensive and the water around some of the models is pretty dirty and should be cleaned from time to time. We also got the offer to visit the mushroom museum after. Unless you are really into mushrooms don't do it
Nice place to visit. Inside about an hour max but reserve next hour or more for kids. They get piece of limestone (free) and can work on it under proffesional eye.
