    This beautiful Chateau is a a quaint village. There is a great staircase inside the keep to view different levels. The Chateau has lovely grounds . There is a fasinating museum for adults and...  more »

    Our route from the Caen (Ouistreham) ferry to Château-Gontier was planned to take in a visit to this attraction. We arrived on what was a wonderfully sunny day with cooling breeze that made walking.....  more »

    Free to enter castle (think it's normally paid entry - not sure why it was free) with good explanations in English. The climb to the top of the keep was interesting and gave good views. Paid entry (€4 u18 free) to the large multimedia exhibit on history, geology, flora, fauna and prehistory of the area. Again in English as well as French and ok for kids.

    Pretty amazing view for mid September. :) Lots of history and a stunning little village in France. Well worth a visit. Plenty of parking and some places to eat and drink open most of the day.
