  • The Russian Orthodox cemetery of Our Lady of Assumption is located in Sainte-Geneviève-des-Bois; Many white Russians are buried there, including Andrei Tarkovsky, Rudolf Nuriev, Feliks Yusupov with his wife Irina of Russia, the actress Odile Versois. But this place is above all the testimony of an exodus that began as a result of the establishment of the communist regime in Russia. Turning among the graves appear the names of princesses who ended up making the sapés, officers who turned into drivers and intellectuals who died literally of starvation. The beautiful Paris did not treated the fugitives well, witnesses of a horror that should not be known. The sumptuousness of Nureyev's tomb, who also fled the communist regime, only mitigates a little sadness

  • This is where some members of my family, some of my ancestors from ancient Russia, rest. (which has nothing to do with what this country has become today, both since 1917 or even after the 2000s, it may take another 70 years for this country to regain some dignity).
