Widely regarded as the most ornate, extravagant bridge in Paris, Pont Alexandre III is an arch bridge spanning the Seine that connects the Champs-Élysées to les Invalides and the Eiffel Tower district. This picturesque bridge, built from 1896 to 1900, features exuberant Art Nouveau lamps and sculptures of cherubs and nymphs at either end. Be sure to look up toward the top of the massive columns to view four gilt-bronze statues of Pegasus held by Fames that watch over the bridge. You'll want to spend an adequate amount of time looking for the hidden images that are carved into the pillars and the arch of the bridge: water spirits, cupids, sea monsters, and more. Our Paris online trip planner makes visiting Pont Alexandre III and other Paris attractions simple, and helps you make a travel plan personal to you.

A must see when in Paris. Close to the tower. The detail involved in this creation is beyond compare. It has been classified as a French monument historique since 1975. It just feels so good to be in.... more »

One of the most beautiful bridges I’ve ever seen! 2 columns carry golden statues on both sides of the bridges. Over it, many other statues decorate the bridge. more »

Possibly the most beautiful bridge on the Seine river in Paris! The sides are white with gilding, while at each corner sits a massive stone tower with a gilded figure on top. It's an excellent place to take photos from. The view of the surrounding buildings from this bridge is also good but slightly obstructed.

This is an amazing and must visit place in Paris. The view from the bridge is particularly mesmerizing. You get a far view of the Eiffel Tower and the background monument is perfect for photography.
