Musee de Montmartre occupies two historical buildings, the Hotel Demarne and the Maison du Bel Air, and is home to the works of many famous artists and writers, such as Renoir. The painter created his great works "La Balançoire" and "Le Bal du Moulin de la Galette" here in 1876. As you explore, you can relive the "boheme artistique" of Montmartre, the spirit of its celebrated cabarets, and the important history of the mount itself. Outside, a charming garden has been renovated to resemble Renoir's paintings for a bit of living art. A visit to Musee de Montmartre represents just the start of the adventure when you use our Paris trip planner to plot your vacation.

A magical gem hidden in the heart of Montmarte, so cozy, peaceful and quiet. The atelier of S. Valedon was spectacular and well preserved. You can feel the atmosphere of the times of La Boheme more »

This museum is so much better than I thought it would be! From the outside, I didn't know if I would be bored or not. I also didn't think it would be very big. There are so many different areas to explore! The paintings are interesting as well as the history of the museum. The courtyards are great too. The cafe was nice. Ended up getting a hot chocolate and cappuccino. The service in the cafe was wonderful. The girl with the short hair spoke a few languages (English is one of them.) She was very friendly and had some great travel tips. I highly recommend stopping here.

Very cosy and friendly. Exquisite collection ans a taste of living in Montmartre. You feel like one of the artists... and on your way back, you start wondering how to start your first novel or painting. The staff is the most helpful
