The house is closed until next year as it undergoes a major refurbishment. However, it is still worth visiting the Place des Vosges, which is definitely one of the best squares in Paris. more »

We saw Victor Hugo's apartment which has been painstakingly reconstructed to show what it would have been like. The Chinese drawing room was reassembled in 1903 and looked wonderful with the sun streaming in. The bedroom where he slept at the end of his life has also been faithfully recreated. I recommend this museum and now would like to visit the house in Guernsey

Just think about that he actually had lived in this place makes me giddy with joy. Such a great author, such a marvelous artist. I loved the whole setting.
