Also known as the "Iron Woman," Eiffel Tower is an iconic symbol of the City of Lights. You’ve no doubt admired this tower in countless films, but when you see it for the first time you'll be blown away by its magnificent scale and grandeur. Gustave Eiffel built the 325-m (1,063 ft) tower in 1889, and for 40 years this was the tallest structure in the world. As you ascend to the third level, realize you’re climbing to the highest accessible observatory platform open to the public in the entire European Union. On the first and second levels, dine in the restaurants, shop in the boutiques, and enjoy breathtaking city views. An audio guide and an iPhone app in English offer historical and cultural tidbits. Taking the Métro to the Ecole Militiare stop, then strolling up Champ de Mars, is a lovely way to arrive. Plan to see Eiffel Tower and other attractions that appeal to you using our Paris planner .

  • We went to climb the Eiffel Tower in the morning and although it was too windy to summit, we got to go to the second deck. Climbing the stairs was worth every penny!! 5euros to climb or 19euros to rid...  more »
  • After traveling to Paris from Amsterdam, we decided to top the day off with going to the Eiffel Tower. I'm so glad we went at night! I never knew that they made it twinkle, which I'm really glad we go...  more »

  • Seeing it live and up close is really beautiful. Buy tickets in advance to save time. For best views go up 3 hours before sunset. At the top it's too windy but the view from there is really amazing. If you’re in Paris, there’s no doubt about you need to see the Eiffel Tower. Its tall and most Romantic place. Good to walk around. The observation deck has some fantastic views of Paris. Make sure you visit Eiffel tower at day and at night as both give you different experience. At night the Eiffel tower gets light up and the night view of the city from the tower is breathtaking.... And make sure you don't miss the light show at night... A perfect place for couples. Supposedly, if you propose (and they say yes) you get free champagne at the top. You can buy it otherwise.
  • The Eiffel Tower is really cool. Our tour guide gave us so many historic details from when it was built to when they put in elevators. It’s very unique because it doesn’t fit into the skyline, but it is very intricately constructed. My daughter Samantha and I loved the view from the top, and the glass floor above ground. It also has gift shops. Just don’t buy from street vendors since it’s illegal. Buy from the legit shops. Anyways, this is one of my favorite places in all of Europe and it is a great setting with many views of the river, France’s Statue of Liberty, and the city across from Paris where there is a modern Arc de Triumph right in front of the old one. This is an absolutely fantastic place to go with family, friends, and even kids. It’s worth going to Paris just to go. Anyways, if you go anywhere in Europe, Paris is the most beautiful place you can visit. Please, please support this place by going there and getting a ticket
