Chateau de Parentignat, Parentignat

Chateau de Parentignat, called "Little Versailles of Auvergne" by Henri Pourrat, is a must-see for any curious visitor. As one of the few buildings spared during the revolution, the castle now houses one of the largest private collections of paintings by French masters from the 17th and 18th centuries. The château was built in 1707 and still contains much of the original furniture and a library with over 20,000 volumes.
