represents the ancient and distinctive manifestations of Roman architecture. The triumphal arches were used for grand occasions, such as welcoming victorious generals and their brave soldiers or establishing new colonies. While many of the arches are in ruins, the Arch of Titus, built in the Roman period, still stands. This was the model for many future arches around Europe, including the Arc de Triomphe in Paris. Everybody think it is only Eiffel Tower the most important place to visit when visit Paris. The Arc de Triomphe is something you must visit when in Paris and it is not less important than Eiffel tower in any way. I recommend you to buy your tickets online to avoid the long waiting lines. There is souvenir shop in inside the monument. At the top, enjoy the spectacular view of whole Paris including Eiffel Tower.
It is one of my favorite places to visit in Paris. First of all it has a beautiful architecture and secondly, you can go above it. You need to climb about 270 steps but the effort is a complete worth. The view of the Paris skyline is just incredible, especially how 8 different streets radiate from this monument and give city it's symmetrical organization. Most importantly you can get amazing view of the Eiffel tower.
