  • Rain Sunday for Heritage Days, I opt for the Museum of Asian Arts. And I forget the grey sky in the magnificent collections of China, India, Japan and Southeast Asia, the superb temporary exhibition on Yves Saint Laurent and that of the Taiwanese artist Yuan Chin Taa who took us away in his "World of Paper". A beautiful tea ceremony, and a beautiful harp and flute concert to discover contemporary Asian composers, served by remarkable performers. One downside: the proximity to the airport which thwarts the tranquillity in the tea pavilion. The museum is perfectly soundproofed. I also regretted not finding any publication on temporary exhibitions. But what a beautiful day!

  • To describe it in a nutshell : a concrete cube inside a circular pond (among other things poorly managed) with Inside Asian objects allegedly from one or more private collections; I say presumably because it is not even indicated the exact origin of the "artifacts" (since saying that a vase comes from Cambodia is as useful as saying that a wheel comes from Germany), neither the utility or ... Nothing. You walk and look at objects you don't know anything about and that we could see anywhere.

  • A very small collection but there are fine pieces here, and well displayed, in that great rarity, a graceful and attractive modern building, nicely situated on a lake/pond (water filthy though). Eccentric zoo and charming palm house next door. Paid admission.
  • Small but well curated, it's probably an hour visit at the most. Just beside the airport so perfect way to kill a bit of time before our flight. There's not an overload of objects so I felt able to appreciate what was there better. The signage is in French but there are cards with English descriptions in each room. Beautiful building too.
