Passage Pommeraye, Nantes

#1 of 81 in Shopping in Pays de la Loire
Neighborhood · Shopping
As the name suggests, Passage Pommeraye is a shopping arcade built along a passage between two streets. Completed in 1843 by Louis Pommeraye, this isn’t your average shopping complex; in fact, the structure was listed as an historic monument in 1976 due to its architectural originality. The mall features Renaissance sculptures and a split floor plan that compensates for a change in height between the two streets. When you’re finished shopping at its high-end boutiques, admire the sculpted beauties that adorn the mall’s pillars instead of advertisements. • Beautiful passage couvert. A must see while in Nantes. Great selection of shops. Very rare to see a passage couvert on three levels.
