    It was kind of a relaxing walk. I didn't realize it would all be outside but it was refreshing

    A very moving memorial, both unusual in design and very effective. Putting it beneath street level with the concrete pillars shaped liked ship's timbers really creates the impression that one is in the bowels of an old slaving ship. The descriptions and time line are well thought out and detailed enough to give a history of the slaving trade not only that was run from the very river one sees so close by but also the extent and scope of the trade across the world and for so long. Very impressive and highly recommended if you are visiting Nantes.
