Œuvre de la cathédrale, Metz

4.5
The seat of the Bishop of Metz, Œuvre de la cathédrale is a historic Roman Catholic cathedral. Locals call it the Good Lord’s Lantern, perhaps in reference to its huge stained-glass windows. Constructed in Gothic style from yellow limestone, the cathedral dates back to the 12th century. Don't miss the spectacularly high nave, and seek out the Metz bishopric’s rich collection of items used during Holy Communion. • It was the stained glass windows that struck us! The cathedral is also good, in itself - high, like many in Europe, is great, is in the heart of the city. It is impossible not to visit the cathedral. It's a must-have attraction.

  • Beautiful, sober and imposing, very beautiful stained glass windows. We did not visit the crypt, the treasure as well as the legend of the Graouli, we keep this for the month of August with the little children
