Firstly we had great difficulty locating the museum, if you approach from the main street of the town there is no sign visible. Its only when you approach the other way you can see the sign. Then... more »

Great reconstruction of buildings of the period, but nothing to explain what the individual buildings were or what they were used for. The museum is good for French speaking adults, but very little..... more »

C’est une visite en deux parties distinctes, l’une sous la forme d’un petit musée traditionnel avec exposition des objets trouvés dans les tombes et avec des panneaux d’explications, l’autre sous la forme de reconstitutions d’une ferme et d’un hameau mérovingiens. C’est très bien réussi, on s’y croit vraiment et on comprend mieux comment vivaient les gens de cette époque. C’est aussi une forme de présentation concrète et ludique qui intéressera les jeunes enfants. Attention ça n’est ouvert que l’après-midi.

It is a visit in two distinct parts, one in the form of a small traditional museum with exhibition of objects found in the tombs and with panels of explanations, the other in the form of reconstructions of a Merovingian farm and hamlet. It's very successful, you really believe it and you understand better how the people of that time lived. It is also a concrete and playful form of presentation that will interest young children. Be careful it is only open in the afternoon.
