On the banks of the river Charente, a small team of 20 are proud to be guardians of the 250 years of history which have built the HINE House. These 250 years resonate throughout the arches of the cellars, through the thick glass of the demi-johns and the portraits of the generations of the HINE family who have run the company since 1763. This heritage is reflected in our cognacs ; a blend of different characters, a constantly changing mosaic which has as its base, the expertise of Cellar Master, Eric Forget.Choose to start, finish, or center your holiday on a trip to Hine Cognac by using our Jarnac trip planning tool.
Over the decades, the House has been daring and creative. This boldness is certainly apparent in the latest release: Domaines HINE Bonneuil 2005: this is made from grapes grown on our own exceptional estate, 70 hectares of established Ugni Blanc vines growing in the best thick chalky terroir of the Grande Champagne area. An original approach in a region where blending is paramount.
Official sole cognac supplier to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, HINE has always produced single vintage cognacs and for which our British heritage has a serious role to play. This is because HINE have continually shipped casks to the United Kingdom known as “Early Landed Cognac” in order to make the most of the ageing conditions where humidity levels are very high, giving eaux-de-vie which are particularly light and fruity with the characteristic orange peel.
The in-depth knowledge of every single HINE eau-de-vie enables our Cellar Master to create blends of equal magnificence. The art of blending is so clearly revealed in every single bottle which leaves our cellars to take place on the smartest tables, the most creative bars and to appeal to cognac connoisseurs all over the world.

Fantastic tour and history of one of the oldest Cognac houses. Free tour is more than worth the trip, with a fascinating focus on soil quality and the full distillation, aging and blending process. Also of interest is their vintage cellar with bottles running back to the 1800's and their aging of certain cognacs in the UK - a tradition dating back to the inception of the house.
