Eglise St-Martin, Colmar

4.2
Dating back to the 14th century, Eglise St-Martin contains many notable Gothic artworks, such as a relief of the Last Judgment. This outstanding Gothic construction is built from red and gold stone in the shape of a cross, and the green and golden-brown tiled roof is classically Alsatian. Look on the exterior for medieval gargoyles, and go inside to view 13th-century statues and altars. The interior is best known for its Baroque organ from 1755, and for 13th-century stained glass depicting the Ascension of Elijah, the Last Supper, and Abraham and Isaac. • Colmar's main Catholic church. Kolmar is essentially a small town, and such a delightful large church to him not by population, but by history. Catholic Collegiate Church of Saint-Merten. Certainly classic Gothic, but, in my opinion, with little motifs of Romanesque architecture. The hall is large, but dark, even on a sunny day little light comes. The stained glass windows are old, dense, and the window frames are narrow and elongated. And two organs. One is old, the second is made in 1975. It looks grandiose from the outside. Moreover, there are no large spaces near and not very huge church literally hangs over the surrounding houses and a small area on which the tourist locomotive snoops briskly. The whole tourist life of the city is swirling around the church.
