The Château de la Madeleine is a castle located in the town of Chevreuse, in the French département of Yvelines (Île de France). In a good state of preservation, it was built on the top of a hill and dominates the town.

The name comes from the chapel of the castle, dedicated to Sainte Marie-Madeleine.

  • The place is a little far away from the train station but it is a very pleasant walk... you would walk by a lot of green spaces and there is a dedicated lane for pedestrians... the view from there is....  more »
  • Not really sure whether it is open or not. We went in as the gate was unlocked however there were no signs or detail available. Best part was the view over the town from the promenade.  more »
  • Nice place and well organised. Fantastic views. Free entry! Totally worth the trip!
  • Beautiful view. Just the way up is difficult to push a stroller. You will have to carry your child and fold your stroller in.
