Musee du Cristal is a specialty museum and will give you a once-in-a-lifetime experience. It is a crystal palace which functions on three levels. It starts with enormous rooms in Folie des Grandeurs. The next section is the Alchimie, where few secrets of crystal glass are unveiled. Then you have the Au-delà de la Transparence, which presents a detailed knowledge of the masterpieces. Also, make sure you notice the incredible brass hardware on the windows. A single look at the crystals will make you recognize the technical and artistic improvements of the Baccarat that has made Baccarat crystal so popular. A lot of people do not know that Musee du Cristal is not just a museum, but also a restaurant. So, take out time to satisfy your taste buds, too. Musee du Cristal Reviews
Cost was 5 euros per person for a 2 room "museum". One beautiful chandelier, a short film of crystal making with no narration, and a few place settings of famous people's crystal. Just go to the store... more »
D'apparence, le bâtiment fais très jolie et nous nous attendons à une superbe visite avec en exposition les plus pièces qui existent et pourquoi pas même une petite démonstration.... Arrivée à l'entré... more »Looking, the building make very pretty and we expect a great visit with on display the most rooms that exist and why not even a small demonstration.... Arriving at the entrance, we are greeted outside so as not to disturb the group that is inside in the lobby with their guide... We are then told that in order not to disturb the group we have to go in by the side through a service door... The one begins to ask if all this is not a joke ... We enter the first room and indeed there are some very nice rooms to see but there are only too many small rooms where rooms are stored. A video finds loopon on a screen but nothing to sit so much say that for the elderly or with small children, this is not practical. There is no demonstration not even a person to ask for explanations... All paid 5 euros per person, for this price we do not necessarily expect the great luxury but at a minimum that we are not taken for more stupid than we are.
Cheap and cheerful, the people presenting are stellar! Worth the visit
Some nice room, but with 250 years of history we must be able to do better. Too bad we can't visit the factory. The small movie at the entrance is well done and just makes you want to see more... Damage
