  • The Castle of Islette is a Renaissance castle, a perfect copy of that of Azay-le-Rideau, located in an enchanting setting. It is easy to see why it housed the loves of Rodin and Camille Claudel. Several memories are collected here. She is the owner of the castle, an absolutely charming and passionate young woman who makes us visit in a very lively way. Note the superb structures of the roof and towers. Not to be missed under any circumstances.

  • A small Chateau not on the scale of Chateau Villandry but definitely worth a visit if you are in the area. Before you enter the actual Chateau itself take in the abundance of wonderful views around it...  more »

  • What a lovely little place! I really enjoyed it. A good place to see a Chateau that is currently occupied and not just a museum - see how a French family may live...and also get a dose of history! A great place for a picnic.
  • What a great effort to restore the chateau it will take time and some money next to kraftmenship. Happy to contribute by our visit. The staff is very friendly and polite. The shop a bit high priced. The cookies where not fresh anymore. The family has done really their best to think of it all. Including portable seating in the chateau. But best are the relaxed atmosphere created in the garden and all the seats. Nice to see the chateau is lived in and see personal references around including the famaly photos - greatest of all the notes in the cabinet in one of the girls rooms. Keep up the good work and we hope revisited in some years and see the progress in the attic. Thank you for opening up your house to us the public, even when their is large competition nearby. One improvement would be also to have English tours available but the guide on paper is also a good in between solution.
