Parc Naturel Regional des Volcans d'Auvergne, Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes

The French national park,Parc Naturel Regional des Volcans d'Auvergne, is home to many puys (volcanic hills), volcanoes, platueaus, and natural habitats. The park is over 120 km (75 mi) from north to south with altitudes from 400 to 1,886 (1,312 to 6,187 feet). The park covers four historical regions and five natural regions. The historical regions are: La Haute-Auvergne, the northern part of Carladez, the western part of the Montagnes d'Auvergne, and La Basse-Auvergne. The five natural regions include one granite plateau called "L’Artense" and four volcanic massifs: Les Monts du Cantal (Mountains of Cantal), Le Cézallier, Puy de Dome, and Puy de Sancy.
