It is situated on the Plateau de Millevaches in the départements of Creuse and Haute-Vienne. It is the largest area of water in the Limousin region of France and provides water supplies, hydroelectricity, and leisure facilities.

  • It's a lovely place to walk. The air is clean and smells of ferns and heather. There are beaches around the lake, but we were hiking, so went to a different part of the lake. We'll be back soon.  more »
  • From all the beaches at Lac de Vassivière, I think Plage de Brousas this is the most beautiful. Lots of parking space, good restaurant and nice sandy beach to linger all day. Spent a full day here...  more »
