It was constructed on a promontory overlooking the valley of the Vie. Portions of it are believed to date from the 13th century. The two extant towers were built by Philippe Chabot de Brion in the first half of the 16th century.
This château is one of approximately 300 châteaux of the Loire Valley tour.
The Château d'Apremont is the property of the commune. It has been listed since 1926 as a monument historique by the French Ministry of Culture.

Beautiful old chateau, long gone in to disrepair, but still elegant and charming. The rooms are empty but it isn't hard to imagine how it might have looked centuries ago. There is a lovely grassy area at the back of the chateau, between its walls and the river, which is a nice place for a stroll or a picnic

A very nice place to visit for a few hours. It's not going to compare to the ones in Paris, but it has a lot of charm and character. It predates Notre Dame and has a lot of history. It cost 4 Euros per person and takes about 1-2 hours to tour. It is located in a quiet little village, very France country side. A must see if you are close.
