Musee Granet was opened to the public in 1838, on the property of Saint-Jean-de-Malte. It still shares gardens with the estate of Saint Jean’s church. This mighty structure houses works of art, including paintings by Jean Auguste Dominique and Paul Cezanne, and sculptures depicting pre-Roman settlements north of Aix. • My wife and I visited the Musee Granet during our visit to Aix. It has several Cezannes, who was a native of the area. It was a very interesting museum with a large variety of modern works.  more »

  • Wonderful collection of art: everything is in perfect condition and really accessible, with no crowds, in comfortable, modern interior. Collection of Musée Granet left a very strong impression on me and I would be happy to come back one day!
  • Fabulous artistic experience. Good quality art from classic to modern. Ingres to Picasso. The extension in an old church is great as well. Good bookshop but lacks a good Cafe!
