Situated on top of the Arctic Circle, Arktikum serves as a museum, science center, and conference venue. Visit one of the museum's educational exhibits, including Northern Ways at the Provincial Museum of Lapland and Arctic in Change at the Arctic Centre. Walk through the glass-roofed foyer, view one of the temporary exhibits, or join in on a museum event. Most importantly, you'll learn about Arctic nature and ways of life in a beautiful setting. This cultural site is available to host meetings and also has a cafe and library. There is much to experience and discover, for young and old, there is something for everyone! Many exhibitions are in Finnish, English, German, etc. Every few months there are additional exhibitions that are always very exciting! One of my favorite museums!
התצוגה מאוד מענינת בעי... more »The museum is partially built under the ground and goes down when you enter it from its windows you can see the river. When you descend to the bottom floor, it has a Finnish local wooden chair that characterizes Lapland and is the source of its main richness. The display is very interesting mainly, I loved the bear and the stuffed reindeer. I liked the bear's documentation that was trying to get into people's home. I loved the device with explanations about the light rays in the northern circle, and especially my love to lie on the pillows and watch the film in the ceiling with starry skies and views of Lapland. The museum manages to show the characteristics of the region.
Incredibly neat museum! Tons of interesting information about culture, climate, geology, history, you name it! Exhibits were all fascinating and well put together. Staff is very friendly and the gift shop was nice. The architecture is absolutely top-notch too. If you're in the area, this is a must-see
A truly quaint, chic and lively science center. Rovaniemi may be a small town, but it certainly does have a tremendous amount of opportunities to offer. If you're not so much of a scientific person, you may not really enjoy this place a whole lot.
