See a collection of masterpieces from Ancient Egypt at Luxor Museum, an institution bringing together antiquities discovered in the Theban temples and necropolis. Established in 1975, the two-floor museum possesses a large number of important artifacts, including items recovered from the tomb of the iconic pharaoh Tutankhamen, as well as the mummies of pharaohs Ahmose I and Ramesses I. The museum brings the story of Ancient Egypt to life through a number of carefully designed reconstructions, interactive exhibits, and audio-visual materials. Such additional features set the imaginations of younger visitors going, making each piece seem relevant and part of an orchestrated whole. Luxor Museum is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our , online itinerary creator Edition.

  • It was awesome. There are many wonderful pieces. You would surely enjoy it if you are interested in history.
  • Simply breathtaking. I chose to visit the temple in the night and had no regrets. Well maybe you cant really see the carvings on the walls so clearly, but the temple has a different kind of beauty from the day. Be sure to spot the original statues of Ramses from the newly 'restored' one. Oh and you will find out that actually the temple is linked to Karnak (3km away!) by the avenue of the sphinx.
