Temple of Khnum, Esna

Beautiful sunken temple just off the Nile where they have preserved some of the original colors of the hieroglyphics on the interior walls. It takes about 15 min to see it all but you could stand there and stare at the walls and ceiling for an hour and find something new at each glance. They are renovating some of the exterior barrier walls (Jan 2019) and had some scaffolding up inside working on the walls but it was still worth the trip in. There is a small bazaar as you walk up to this hidden temple where we grabbed 2 large bottles of water for 1 GBP as well as a small statue at the same cost. If you are on one of the Nile cruises coming in you will have about 5 guys there asking to shine your shoes/flip flops/trainers (they don't care).
