Must see · Waterfall · Nature / Park
Stroll down a cobblestone path and through lush green vegetation to see Cascada de Peguche. This 18 m (50 ft) waterfall serves as an indigenous ceremonial site, where locals carry out traditional rituals a few days prior to their sun and harvest celebration. The water flowing down this waterfall starts at the foothills of the Imbabura volcano and then travels downstream by the river Peguche after falling off the overhang here. Look for the hummingbirds, owls, small snakes, frogs, lizards, and rabbits that make up the local wildlife. • Before walk to inside park, better pay to go to restroom first. Park maintenance not bad. There are lots of Eucalyptus trees around. Waterfalls is not big.  more »
  • We love Peguche Falls! It's a beautiful, lush area with a great camping site, hot springs, and an indigenous tourist village, not to mention the gorgeous waterfall.  more »
