Admire stunning feats of architecture at Ingapirca Ruins, the largest known Inca ruins in Ecuador. Built without mortar, as many Inca settlements were, the city's buildings have stayed upright throughout the centuries thanks to a perfectly interlocking network of stones. In fact, the city symbolizes something even more notable: the peaceful co-existence of the Inca and the indigenous Cañari people on the land. While the two cultures didn't really integrate, they maintained an amicable enough relationship, allowing each other to remain autonomous. Take a guided tour to learn more about the ruins, including the sun temple and observatory. Put Ingapirca Ruins and other Ingapirca attractions into our Ingapirca trip planner , and watch your holiday take shape.

  • The site is listed UNESCO and tourists pass there but when you know the Perou this site is very disappointing for $4 admission. You have to be passionate to really appreciate the Inca site.
