  • This is a wonderful park to hike and admire nature near by quito city. You can reach the viewpoint with a minimal walking (3 minutes from the parking place ) You should go early in the morning if you want to see the all volcano crater ( no later than 12 am) otherwise it will be cloudy , normally after this time the clouds come from the pacific and cover this entire area. For hiking we recommend you hire a guide otherwise you will miss a lot of information and maybe you could get lost looking for the right paths inside the volcano
  • Beautiful and free. Easily combined with your middle of the world trip. If you hike down you get to see the fauna change with the elevation. Be aware that when the fog rolls in - usually in the afternoon - the view will be lost. The market at the top of the crater sells high quality artisan work, but does have higher prices and other markets. Also, up the road on the right side of the parking lot, there is a fancy restaurant with a great view.
