Rosenborg Castle, Copenhagen

4.5
To see an exhibit featuring a collection of Danish crown jewels and regalia, head to Rosenborg Castle, one of the country's finest examples of Renaissance architecture. Originally constructed as King Christian IV's country house in 1606, the structure underwent several major expansion projects through 1624. The elegant castle sits in the middle of one of the city's liveliest parks and serves as a royal history museum. In addition to the famous crown jewels, which are displayed in the catacombs beneath the castle, the museum collection also includes a coronation carpet and the throne chair of Denmark. • This is another of Copenhagen's beauties and a definite must see during your time in the city. It is located on the grounds of "King's Gardens", which is a thing of beauty in itself. The castle is a nice construction with a regal vibe, filled with history and art. Beginning from the small bridge guarded by lion sculptures that lead to the actual castle and ending with all the incredible rooms hosting beautiful art, Rosenborg castle is just a beautiful spot in the city, which definitely deserves a visit.
  • Stunning castle with beautiful surroundings. Can spend along time just wondering around the grounds of the castle. The castle itself takes you back to the time of the kings of old and how they lived with there vast wealth. Must visit when in Copenhagen, probably the best attraction.
